VEX IQ Course

Presented by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation, the VEX IQ competition provides exciting open-ended robotics challenges for elementary and middle school students through hands-on, student-focused learning.

What is VEX IQ?

VEX IQ

Each kit includes a hand tool for easy assembly and disassembly for little hands. This class will teach students how to use these tools and materials to build their own robots and how to program them to control them. Students can learn many useful skills including design, engineering and programming.

If you have an interest in robotics, design, and programming, this VEX IQ course is an excellent choice. It will provide you with a challenging and fun learning experience, while also helping you develop many useful skills.

What will your students learn?

Robot Design and Construction

 Learn about the ideas and methods for designing effective and imaginative robots using VEX IQ building blocks, motors, sensors, and gears.  They will also consider various robot designs and take into account different factors like weight distribution when developing robots that can successfully carry out specific tasks.

Sensor Integration

Discover more about the various sensor types included in the VEX IQ system, including touch, color, distance, and more. They will learn how sensors can be used for navigation, object detection, line following, and responding to environmental cues through practical exercises and projects. Their ability to program their robots to interpret sensor data and perform the necessary actions in response to the information they receive will improve as a result of this.

Autonomous Navigation

Using the VEX IQ programming environment, learn the fundamentals of autonomous navigation. To program their robots to follow predetermined paths, dodge obstacles, and carry out particular tasks, they will look into ideas like motion planning, pathfinding, and avoidance of col lisions._cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Their robots will be able to react intelligently to shifting circumstances because they will discover how to apply real-world scenarios into code.

Build

Promote everyone to engage actively in VEX IQ hands-on building activities. This will highlight the need of getting practical knowledge and experience while constructing and developing robots.

Promote creativity and innovation by encouraging to think outside the box and envision unique solutions. Boost the use of VEX IQ to push the boundaries of what is conceivable.

Game-Based

Implement game-based learning into the course to motivate everyone in an enjoyable and interactive manner. Apply obstacles, races, and cooperative learning activities to foster collaboration and problem-solving abilities.

Research

Promote interest and study of STEM concepts involving robotics and engineering.  Motivate everyone to discover more regarding the fundamental ideas behind their builds.

Design

Highlight the importance of careful planning when designing productive and effective robots. Fundamentals of engineering will be explained to assist them designing mechanisms and systems for their VEX IQ robots.
